Succession Planning #
We encourage all Fund Advisors to have a succession plan in place for their Fund, ensuring a clear pathway for its future when they are no longer able to be involved.
As a Fund Advisor, you can let us know your wishes for the future of your Fund in a Statement of Wishes Form, which can be updated at any time. This helps ensure your Fund either winds up or continues in alignment with your philanthropic goals.
The most common options are:
- Foundation SA grants from your Fund: You may elect for Foundation SA to continue distributing funds in line with your past giving priorities. This option depends on your Fund’s balance and is at Foundation SA’s discretion.
- You transfer the fund to Foundation SA: Foundation SA continues to distribute funds adapting over time to evolving needs of the South Australian community.
- Managed by a Fund Successor: Your nominated Successor, such as a family member, adviser or friend, takes over the Fund and continues your giving journey.
To discuss your succession planning options, contact us at any time.
Leaving a Legacy #
When planning for the future of your Fund, you may also wish to leave a gift in your Will. A bequest to your Sub-fund or Foundation SA allows your generosity to grow over time, support multiple causes, and adapt to evolving community needs.
Leaving a legacy ensures your impact continues for future generations. You can learn more about gifts in Wills, including types of bequests and suggested wording, on our website: Legacy Giving.
