The latest Top 50 Corporate Community Investment List by JBWere was released on Friday 3 December in The Australian Financial Review. The report shows that the total sum given by Australia’s top 50 corporate philanthropists in 2021 was $1.33 billion, 4% higher than the previous year. This is particularly impressive as giving levels in 2020 were boosted by substantial support for the bushfires and COVID.
A number of the large Australian corporates increased their giving by over 30%, including National Australia Bank,Woodside Energy, Macquarie Group, Atlassian, Hearts and Minds Investments Limited, Rio Tinto and CSL.
And some new names in the Top 50 include Petbarn Foundation, Thankyou Group, Sonic Healthcareand Northern Star Resources Limited. The most common cause areas of support were health, education, social welfare and environment.
